Graffiti Against Bombing of Residential Areas
Through their initiative, the artists contributed to supporting the “Stop Bombing Civilians” campaign. The striking graffiti was unveiled on Sunday, 3 October, in front of an enthusiastic audience at WERK9 and accompanied by live music from the renowned Munich band JAMARAM. Participants wrote personal messages to political decision makers in the guestbook to express their protest against the annual killing or injury of tens of thousands of civilians during bombings.
With their action, Handicap International, the Association for Urban Art e.V. and the artists involved aim to contribute to protecting civilians in war zones. The graffiti on the building shows a family full of fear searching for protection from air strikes. During the official launch in the Werksviertel, Dr. Eva Maria Fischer explained the fatal consequences of explosive weapons in residential areas and called for decisive action for the benefit of all those affected.
